For all of you planning a trip to Colombia (because, why not?) take a look at this happy colorful place! We would like to say: the most colorful town of the world, a place in Colombia called Guatapé.
Photographer Jessica Devnani discovered this wonderful town while she was backpacking through Colombia. It looks like a television program decor for kids. All those historical buildings have the best decorations, animals, boats and geometric shapes in a sort of cartoon style.
“The paintings on the walls hold a variety of meanings. Some are used to indicate local businesses or beliefs of the residents, while others are cultural images of the community’s farming heritage.” (Modern Met)
Oh, by the way, Guatapé has a beautiful viewpoint where you can watch 360 degrees of the surrounding island scenery.
